WHAT DID WE DO?

USER RESEARCH : SUMMARY

All findings are based on studies of published research papers to understand the user needs and wants. The primary user group were the senior citizens and univiersity students whose age varied from 16 - 24 age.

According to first Longitudinal Ageing Study in India (LASI), Two in every three senior citizens in India suffer from some chronic disease. Around 23 per cent of the elderly population (age 60 years and above) have multi-morbidities; elderly women are more likely to have multi-morbidity conditions, the report said. Few important stats have been provided below :-

USER INTERVIEWS

Interviewed 5 potential users to get an understanding of pain points, behavior and motivations in setting goals. The following were the most significant results of the interviews

Old people are not familar with technology and hence the app must be simple

They need a trustworthy and a kind hearted person to help because they are physically weak

Students have a lot of free time but enough part time jobs are not available

Students can develop good qualities of care and empathy which contributes to a better future

USER PERSONAS

Following five user surveys, we have created a persona that helps us understand who the users of product are, their needs and expectations, and the purpose for which they would use the product. The result must be plausible people with their own values and experiences

USABILITY STUDY : FINDINGS

I conducted two rounds of usability studies. Findings from the first study helped in guiding the designs from wireframes to mockup. The second study used a high fidelity prototype and revealed what aspects of the mockup needed refining.

ACCESSIBILITY CONSIDERATION

The below principles are the criteria on which I have tried to design my high fidelity prototype considering the fact that quite a number of senior citizens might use this app and may not be tech-savvy

Accesinility Features.png

HIGH FIDELITY PROTOTYPE

The first usability study showed that the graphical data analysis should be more attractive and easy to understand, also the user needed to know his monthly income and number of patients till now.

REFLECTIONS

After designing SeniHelp, I learned that the app could have improved much better if I could have collaborated with other designers. It is after designing this app that I got perspectives from various designers which help me further improve the design flow of the app.
